IADC437 tricone roller bits have very long tungsten carbide inserts that suit for drilling very soft rocks.
Soft rocks are always full of sticky compositions that covers teeth which makes bit-balling.
Shorter tungsten carbide inserts could drill hard rocks easily, but it can not drill soft and sticky rocks, bit-balling will prevent rock from being broke.
IADC437 is longer TC inserts roller cone bits, it is suitable for drilling soft formations at fast speed.
Operating Parameters
This roller cone bits are used for soft formations with low compressive strength and high drill ability, such as clay, mudstone, chalk, gypsum, salt, soft limestone, etc.
