1> 142mm Diameter cones are higher than traditional thirds(1/3) of 8 1/2" tricone bits, but height of cones is lower, this design makes diameter of rock drilling ring smaller which means less rocks need to be broke, so the drilling down speed is much faster.
2>Bigger diameter cones has enough space to fit more and bigger tungsten carbide inserts to extend working life.
