Bit Description:
IADC: 517 - TCI journal sealed bearing bit with gauge protection for soft to medium soft formations with low compressive strength .
Compressive Strength:
85 - 100 MPA
12,000 - 14,500 PSI
Ground Description:
Medium hard and abrasive rocks such as sandstones with streaks of quartz, hard limestone or chert, hematite ores, hard, well-compacted abrasive rock such as: sandstones with quartz binder, dolomites, quartzite shales, magma and metamorphic coarse grained rocks.

7 1/2 inches (190mm) API TCI Tricone Bits have type of rubber sealed bearing and metal sealed bearing. We suggest that we had better use metal face sealed bearing bits for rock deep well.
Rocks hardness could be soft , medium and hard or very hard, hardness of one type of rocks may be also a little different, for example, limestone, sandstone, shale has soft limestone, medium limestone and hard limestone, medium sandstone and hard sandstone, etc.
Choose the proper rocks drilling bits is very important before starting project. Mostly IADC517 is for drilling soft rocks and IADC637 is for drilling hardest.

- PDC bits(Matrix or Steel body, blades quantity, cutter size, etc)
- Hole opener(Diameter, size of pilot hole, hardness of rocks, thread connection of your drill pipe, etc.)
- Roller cutters(Diameter of cones, model number, etc.)
- Core barrel(Diameter, quantity of cutters, connection, etc.)
