Long intervals of very soft poorly compacted shales, dolomites, sandstones, clays, salts and limestones.

Tricone rock bit IADC417 8.5"(215.9mm)
1>Bit size 8.5"(215.9mm) with thread connection4 1/2 reg pin is for deep well drilling like oil and gas well drilling, and it is also a regular size in horizontal directional pilot hole drilling. We also called 215mm or 216mm.It is tungsten carbide insert bit.
2>We have Elastomer sealed bearing with normal quality and price, and Metal-face sealed bearing with higher performance and price.
3>If it is very deep well drilling, the rotary speeed is high, so we suggest Metal-face sealed bearing tricone bits in drilling depth exceeds 1000 meters, for hard rock and long distance trenchless pilot hole drilling that length exceeds 300 meters we also recommend metal-face sealed bearing tricone bits.
4>If it is water well drilling, shallow well drilling or shorter distance trenchless pilot hole drilling projects, then elastomer(rubber) sealed bearing tricone bits has better cost performance.
