In rock section of water well drilling application, TCI-Tungsten carbide insert tricone bits is required in drilling hard rocks. The diameter 17 1/2" is almost the biggest in water well drilling, usually small capacity drill rig can only drive 17 1/ 2" tricone drill bits to 100-150 meters depth with stabilizers for keeping well straight.
